Topic: ATHLETE OF THE WEEK!!

Author: TR Original Message Posted: Apr 9 2003 1:39AM

Well if the Cyborg's head is not already big enough now it will barely fit into the Olympic Oval. Darrel Popowich aka Cyborg has won CFCN's ATHLETE of the week!!!! I think it was a very close but I believe he beat out a representative from Dart's, Checkers, and a extremely good curler as he could drink 10 beers and still play to the curlers 9.

Congradulations to CYBORG for winning CFCN's ATHLETE of the week!!!

I believe he will be at the Olympic Oval tommorrow, you know doing the press stuff, signing autograph's. Get in line for your autographed collectables!!!

CFCN? Canadian Foosball and Curlers Network?

Author: TR Reply #2 Posted: Apr 9 2003 11:32AM

For once I am not kidding here!! CFCN is a local T.V station, I think it is a CTV affiliate. I think he gets interviewed today and it airs on Friday ( I believe)

Congratulations Darrel on being the CFCN Athlete of the Week. I hope to see you wearing the Athlete of the Week fleece vest with plaque in hand at the Foosapalooza DYP on Friday. For anyone wanting to see Darrel's interview, watch the CFCN news on Friday between 6:30pm and 7pm. See you all friday.

Is there any way we can get a hold of this interview in electronic format (.mov, .avi or something).

Depending, we might want to put it up on our site.

So darrel, if you really want us to put it up on our site, its best to mention the CTSF.. B-)

Darrell, if it's not too late, please let them know how I lit you up in Vegas. Thanks in advance!

Author: Aged Whine & Cheese Reply #11 Posted: Apr 10 2003 4:04PM

Slow: Were you holding a lighter to his foot when you lit him up? Otherwise, I'm not sure of the connection.

Congrats Darrel. Remember to plug CFA and CTSF. Market market market.

Author: TR Reply #13 Posted: Apr 10 2003 4:32PM

And thank "Yonex" for its wraps and "Big Rock Beer" for all their help in your career. "I'm going to Disneyland!!" I think should be your last statement.

Author: The Devil's Foos Reply #14 Posted: Apr 10 2003 6:28PM

That's a lot to say in 10 seconds. ;-)

Author: Aged Whine & Cheese Reply #15 Posted: Apr 10 2003 6:37PM

Not really. Here is the script:

Thnks Ynx n' BgRckBr. Plg CF/CTSF.

If you leave out the vowels, I can say it in about 4 seconds. That leaves 6 seconds for Darrell to use for his own. And after all, with the vowels gone and the cryptic content, it won't be me lookin' stupid on local TV.

Author: Cyborg Reply #16 Posted: Apr 10 2003 6:48PM

It's all done, plugs are complete, we'll see about e-format.
Not going to Disneyland, Big Rock - good idea.

RT - sorry, didn't mention it. I just remember focusing on proper form of moving the score chips since Eug scored evertime he got the ball. I thought the best way for us to win was to let him have the drop as soon as possible. ;-)

Oh, and thanks guys
