Topic: EFL Ad's on Facebook

Author: Will Original Message Posted: Jun 2 2011 1:14PM

Just a heads up that the EFL is advertising on Facebook now!

If you see the add, please DO NOT click on it!

We pay per click, so the less people that click on it the better, it is just a link to the Edmontonfoosball.com site. Let me know if the add pops up under your facebook account though, because you are the target market we are trying to reach with this advertising. Hopefully a lot more people out there like foosball and are going to clicking the link if they don't know the site exists yet.

Still, once we have had 100 people click the add then the add expires, so the longer that takes, the more people that will see the add. So again don't click the add if you see it please

I have never ever wanted to click an ad many many times so badly. Too bad I don't have a FB account

Well... we are at over 1000 people seeing the ad in just the first 4 hours, and it still hasn't cost a dime because no one has clicked on it!

Good work all you viewers out there!

Facebook advertising REALLY keeps track of the stats.

All I keep seeing is the meet single women ad

You know the ads that get displayed are based on your browsing habits Simon.....

We should have a facebook page for it. post all the pictures that have been taken and links to the videos. allow conversations on there with anyone. when i typed it in the search all that came up was edmonton foosball association and it says that we still play at rosarios..

Good stuff Will, keep us posted. Very interested to see how the campaign turns out.

I agree with Cam we could do more to promote the EFL facebook group (I just visited it and it is scheduled to be archived). It's not helping us that the bing search embedded in Facebook only turns up an outdated EFA website. Maybe this has already been done, but I submitted edmontonfoosball.com to Bing so hopefully that will get it listed.

one thing that can help
every time you want to view the messgae board search edmontonfoosball.com in google. this will increase the relevance of the search and move our website to the top of the search index

Author: Cam. Reply #13 Posted: Jun 3 2011 12:11PM

Is that how it works? I know someone who had to pay to be at the top of the google list. everytime it got clicked it was 10 cents i believe

Author: melanoir Reply #14 Posted: Jun 3 2011 12:20PM

with certain ads they pay to be at the top, but it also goes by relevance so every time you click the first link and then, think this is shit , hit the back button and click the next link, google keeps track of that, eventually with enough people doing that the second becomes the first
