Topic: Thursday Points Update

Author: Darcy Original Message Posted: Nov 11 2011 2:03PM

Hey guys,

We did a DYP last night and had one of the best turnouts since July. 16 players is just about perfect for that space, the tables were rocking all night, most people had today off so a few of us closed the place down. It was a good time!

It was awesome to see the Jones's back out too, Carlie and Darrel got drawn together and played really well to boot, Darrel still has a smoker from the back and Carlie's passing series gave players fits up front.

Mikey J has been playing really well of late too, he really helped Elliot adapt quickly after not coming out for a few months, they ended up taking fourth in a really tough chart.

And after two weeks of showing up in the finals video Simon will be there again as soon as I can get it posted, winning this one easily in the second set.

1. Simon/Patrick
2. Christian/Maria
3. Darcy/Chris

The tables were definitely rocking

Author: Darcy Reply #2 Posted: Nov 12 2011 2:02PM

Same with your five bar! [regards!]

Author: Darcy Reply #3 Posted: Nov 12 2011 2:02PM

rather....

Author: S. Edwards Reply #4 Posted: Nov 12 2011 5:02PM

Don't you mean unstoppable

Author: Darcy Reply #5 Posted: Nov 14 2011 9:45AM

We'll see on Thursday!

Author: S. Edwards Reply #6 Posted: Nov 14 2011 10:27AM

Is that when you will be posting the video

I won't be making it to the thursday table rocking this week.

Author: Darcy Reply #7 Posted: Nov 14 2011 10:48AM

You're not retiring again are you?

Hopefully tomorrow night, Wednesday at the latest.

Author: S. Edwards Reply #8 Posted: Nov 14 2011 11:41AM

just from wobbly foos

Author: Darcy Reply #9 Posted: Nov 14 2011 11:46AM

I'd blame wobbly tables if I went around jarring everyone too.

Author: S. Edwards Reply #10 Posted: Nov 14 2011 1:42PM

I know the wobbly tables actually help your inconsistent game by increasing the miss hit factor, but seriously fix the tables! If you don't know how, you can hire me to fix them for you. BTW, it's Will that jars

Author: Darcy Reply #11 Posted: Nov 14 2011 1:50PM

You're right, I do seem to play better when the table is a rockin!

Seriously though I thought the tables played well, I didn't have any problems with them moving on me. Next time you come out show me what you mean and I'll see what I can do.

Author: Darcy Reply #12 Posted: Nov 14 2011 1:59PM

...and at least I'm consistent with my inconsistency.

Author: Will Reply #13 Posted: Nov 14 2011 2:10PM

All we need to do is grab a socket set and tighten the nuts that hold the cabinet onto the legs. Tornado's seem to come loose and get wobbly every 3-4 months or so....

Author: Will Reply #14 Posted: Nov 14 2011 2:11PM

Not that I have a serious problem with the tables, I think they play fine - but I can see where someone with Simon's extremly picky nature could have ground to stand on!

Author: S. Edwards Reply #15 Posted: Nov 14 2011 3:15PM

For the most part they play fine. However since I don't shoot a rollover, euro or back pin I find the ball moves from a set position even with the slightest goalie movement. I have heard Garry state his shot is also effected by the wobbly tables. If I remember, the next time I come out I will bring some locktite. That should cure those loose legs

Author: Will Reply #16 Posted: Nov 14 2011 4:25PM

We would need to be able to remove the legs from the table also... would that prevent us from getting the nuts off?

Author: S. Edwards Reply #17 Posted: Nov 14 2011 4:48PM

No

Author: .Garry Reply #18 Posted: Nov 14 2011 6:25PM

I don't know if it's the legs or the carpeting, but a set shot was hard to do, and a slight movement by the goalie when I had it pinned and came off did cause the ball to vary from it's path. I didn't play on the table by the stairs though, only the one by the bar.

What is this Thursday???

Author: Darcy Reply #19 Posted: Nov 14 2011 7:51PM

What would you like it to be Garry?

Author: .Garry Reply #20 Posted: Nov 14 2011 8:03PM

B.Y.P. ???

Author: Darcy Reply #21 Posted: Nov 14 2011 10:04PM

Hah, last time I did a BYP no one showed up. I think I'm going to hold off on those until after christmas. Maybe we'll do an Am's choice this week. We'll draw Am's randomly to decide who gets first pick. how's that?

Author: .Garry Reply #22 Posted: Nov 15 2011 12:25AM

It suks

Author: moyatielens Reply #23 Posted: Nov 15 2011 12:35AM

Lololol....Oh Lordy...please not a BYP.

Author: moyatielens Reply #24 Posted: Nov 15 2011 2:07AM

Actually, come to think of it...probably much better to be a BYP.

Author: S. Edwards Reply #25 Posted: Nov 15 2011 7:59AM

Moya, are you refering to foosball or a sexy party?!

Author: Darcy Reply #26 Posted: Nov 15 2011 9:35AM

I'll take a vote at 7:45 with whoever is there. Majority rules, we start at 8!

Author: moyatielens Reply #27 Posted: Nov 15 2011 9:48AM

Aren't they the same thing, Simon??

Author: S. Edwards Reply #28 Posted: Nov 15 2011 4:46PM

>>I'll take a vote at 7:45 with whoever is there. Majority rules, we start at 8!

That will work well for a BYP. Duh! Just make a decision. If its a BYP, players would need more than 15 minutes to find a partner. I think since Moya is showing up she might like to team up with Christian (although they suck together. No pun intended)

Author: Darcy Reply #29 Posted: Nov 15 2011 6:31PM

I think I'd like to do something new, to be honest. BYP's are great but I want to give the new guys a chance to draw someone good and I also want to give the more experienced players a chance to play with the partner of their choice too.

I'm not going to do a BYP but I'm thinking I'd like to do a round of high card to determine the partners.

Highest card picks their partner first, you can pick anyone. Then the next highest card picks second etc. You can't pick if you're already picked.

Author: Darcy Reply #30 Posted: Nov 15 2011 6:33PM

I'm going to pay the entry fees for the first two players picked, too.

Author: S. Edwards Reply #31 Posted: Nov 15 2011 6:59PM

BYP at my house Thursday night!

Author: moyatielens Reply #32 Posted: Nov 15 2011 8:29PM

That's a cool idea, Darcy.

Come on Simon... will be fun. :))

Author: Darcy Reply #33 Posted: Nov 15 2011 9:36PM

Author: Darcy Reply #41 Posted: Nov 16 2011 12:47PM

errr see yourself win in the final.
