This week we did a High/Low tournament, where the highest ranked player partners with the lowest ranked player and the second highest with the second lowest.. etc.

We had a little bit of a smaller turnout, with 16 players in attendance - but regardless of that we had an incredible tournament filled with close matches the whole way.

Garry and Ed had a good run through the winner bracket, taking out a couple of strong teams but ultimately falling short in the kingseat game.

Conrad and Ray were the true story of the evening. They beat Maria and Ben twice throughout the event, knocked out Tobin and Chad, then had to play Garry and Ed to get to the final. Obviously it is always tough to beat a Pro, especially of Garry's calibre. When he is teamed up with Ed playing as hot as he was, and with a good knowledge of Conrads game too it makes it a lot tougher. Conrad really was incredible grabbing loose balls and putting away almost every shot throughout the night. Ray blocked up a storm and they got through that match in the 3rd game after losing the first one.

In the final they couldn't be stopped. One of the games Ray got 3 from the back, including a signature near wall bank. Conrads 5 row was incredible, he was making really smart blocks at crucial times and making sure he got the ball on his 3 one way or another.

In the end they won it two strait in the final against myself and my CTV camera man partner Bruce. Bruce played pretty well considering he had never played in a tournament before, he even scored a two goals in a row in one game. I played really well too, I don't think I could have done much more... When two players of that skill level find that chemistry and just fight hard enough they can win it.

What should we do next Tuesday (March 6th)? I'll put it to a vote:

2500 Limited (total points must add up to less than 2500, pick your own partner)

DYP (Just an old fashioned open draw)

New partner night (BYP but you can't play with anyone you have ever partnered with before - I can get a list of all of your partners for you if you are interested)
