I'm thinking about going to Nationals this year. They have a 40K Nationals and a 30K super doubles
Fights from Calgary are $380.00 return tax in.
Anyone else thinking about it?

Thinking about it. But it's likely going to be either Nationals or Worlds and not both. As of right now, I'm leaning more towards Worlds.

Ben, you need to be there by 3:00 PM on Thursday for Am doubles. There is a flight leaving at 6:00 AM calgary time and gets to STL at 1:45pm. Its a 15 min cab ride to the hotel. My flight is flexible and I can change it. I don't neeed to be there until Friday at 1:00pm

I'm pretty much in for this one for sure too, which means I'm not going to Worlds. I'm on record several times saying I love team events, and having that makes this really enticing!
Superdoubles with those payouts, $8000 for first and super deep payouts.
4th of July in St. Louis... can't beat that.
$380 flights...
Lets get a team together for this.. It isn't first come first serve, our best 6 players represent the team. We could in theory put more than one team in, but I'm guessing that having 6 players would be everything. We can put in an Expert and an Open team.
Simon, Ben, Will... who else is thinking about coming? I don't see why people wouldn't want to go to this one.

The reason they have the tournament in St. Louis over the Independance Day week is because they have one of the top Fireworks celebration and a world class fair during that time. Not many cities take is as seriously as St. Louis...
Also pretty much everyone just wont stop saying "4th of July in St. Louis... can't beat that." I heard it like 127 times this week

lol I had no idea St. Louis was so passionate. I was thinking "4th of July in New York, Washington DC", or, being Canadian, "4th of July in the States" would be uttered more often.

The team is based on province, not country. You can however play for a neighboring state/province if your local area doesn't have a foosball scene.

Arighty...count me in! I will be booking my plane ticket tonight (assuming the prices don't jump by the time i get home from work).
Probably head down July 4th and come back July 9th.

Crap, it costs us more than $700 to fly from Denver to Calgary, and you guys get to fly to St. Louis for $380??? That's cool that some of you will be going. I'm driving out there, and I'm looking forward to seeing you. I'm originally from St. Louis, and it's true about the 4th there. Huge fireworks shows at the Arch on the 4th, 6th and 7th. Free concerts include Heart (sort-of Canadian band) on the 4th, Third Eye Blind on the 6th, and Dierks Bentley on the 7th.
