Congrats Conrad! What a run in Open Singles!

I skimmed through the charts. Not a lot of Canadians placing real high, besides Dylan. BC did better than
Alberta. Does this sum it up?

Author: foosghost Reply #3 Posted: May 22 2012 12:26PM

um not exactly.

DYP
1st Mike Boyle, Jeff Schneider
3rd Will Stranks, Kathy Brainard

Open Singles
2nd Eric Dunn
4th Tuan Phan

Open Doubles
4th Craig Williams, Robert Gingell

Open Mixed
3rd Christian Dunn, Moya Regan

but looking at the above results, yea i guess BC did better than AB, but there were plenty of high canadian finishes.

Conrad took 5th in open singles as well, not bad for his first tournament.

Author: JeremyR Reply #5 Posted: May 22 2012 12:52PM

13 Limited
2nd Justin Shaw, Kyle Wells

Good job Kyle!

nice work boys!

My biggest takeaway from the tournament is that one of the following needs to happen:

A) We need Fireball tables in Saskatoon
B) I need to never play on Fireball again

It's a good table, I just couldn't adjust fast enough.

Author: FireballGuy Reply #8 Posted: May 22 2012 2:58PM

Jeremy,

I believe Barry has got 2 Fireball tables in Saskatoon, 3-man goalie.

Author: JeremyR Reply #9 Posted: May 22 2012 3:28PM

Yes and no... There are two Fireball tables in Saskatoon, but they are both in high schools and there is no public access to them.

Author: Darcy Reply #10 Posted: May 22 2012 3:32PM

Not unless you want to be that guy.

Author: Will Reply #11 Posted: May 22 2012 4:54PM

Hey Kyle, can you make sure that Saskatoon gets a table to practice on?

Author: Will Reply #12 Posted: May 22 2012 5:00PM

Congratulations to Dylan Phuong on a great weekend! Even when Christian, Simon, JJ, and I were all playing in Am we didn't have any Canadians double up on the Am events.

Am singles:
1st Dylan

Am Doubles:
1st Dylan Phuong and Jeff Lee
2nd Conrad Kwan and Ray Robichaud

Author: Dylan Reply #13 Posted: May 22 2012 8:02PM

Ray and Conrad should have double dipped us for am doubs. I guess they took too long and let us get warmed up again. Good matches though. And Kyle, can you organize nationals for us too?

Author: JeremyR Reply #14 Posted: May 22 2012 9:05PM

Hey Kyle - what's the best way for us to break in to the high school here so we can practice on their table?

Author: FireballGuy Reply #15 Posted: May 23 2012 11:46AM

In that case, I offer to ship up to 2 Fireball coin tables to Saskatoon for $1200 with shipping and coin mechs and light racks included. Pay us in 6 months. So I need a player or promoter to be responsible to find a good location and to operate the tables for extra income. Please email me at foosball_site@yahoo.com

Thanks

Dennis

Same situation for Vancouver. No Fireball here, puts us way behind Alberta, Washington, and Oregon.

If an opportunity comes up I'll let you know Dennis.

Author: JeremyR Reply #17 Posted: May 23 2012 2:32PM

Dennis - that sounds good. I'd gladly take this on, likely with the help of one or two other local players. Give me a few days to talk to some bars and pool halls. I want to have a location on board before I commit to buying any tables. Thanks a lot! I'll send you an email next week with a final decision.

Author: FireballGuy Reply #18 Posted: May 24 2012 4:59PM

Jeremy and Jeff,

Sure. Take your time. The same deal goes for Vancouver. There is already a table in storage in Vancouver. Anytime you are ready.

But Kyle, what if all I have at my disposal are some aluminum cans and a rusty old car?

Author: Portland Isaac Reply #21 Posted: Jun 5 2012 11:38AM

Great to see all you guys/gals from Canada. It is always a pleasure!

You guys have some really talented players. Would love to play you on your turf one of these days.

Jeremy,

Sand off some rust from that old beater and collect it. Pulverize an aluminum can using sheers and mortar/pestle. Mix the two to the correct stoichiometry and your good to go!
