Wow what a tournament we had last Tuesday night.

There was a lot of people and we did singles so it ran very late, but was there ever a lot of talking points about this week.

Christian Dunn is back in fine form, finally. He made his way through a very tough bracket beating me 5-4 5-4 then Blair, then Garry, the Tom just to get to the king seat match. In the winners side final he took out Carey, who finished third, then played Tom again in the final.

Tom came out really strong and took two strait without Christian being able to put up much of a fight. In the final game of the 2nd best of 3 Christian hit the most ridiculous slingshot from his 2 bar. Other people in the crowd watching didn't even know it was a slingshot, and I had to ask after the game just to make sure. It was really that fast, the most incredible goal I have ever seen.

In other news I saw Des play probably the best single game he has ever played when he beat Tom in the first of a best of 3. Great shooting Des and really good composure. I think it made some other players scared to play you on tuesday.

Paul played pretty amazing as well, he beat Chris, took a game of Lindsey, and beat Des. I think Paul has a really strong singles game and it was nice to see Paul come out and do well after taking that break off.

Mike J came out on a mission, after telling me his points were not as high as they should be he proved his point. Good wins Mike and I think your points should be higher now.

Last but not least - SAM

Way to go Sam, you played so focused and smart. I hope you know that you are this good, and that it wasn't just something that you pulled off once. You can beat anyone at any time if you focus. Good work man and way to battle. Sam got up 6-2 on Des in the No-Pro singles final, but let Des back into it up to a 6-6 tie. I think sam worked a little harder than he has before and dug a little deeper to pull off the last two goals and win it 8-6.

I have to make a comment here about Uzair. His game is really coming along well. I think he took a game off some people. I believe he took a game off of Jamie. I'm glad that Uzair comes out every week. I can see a marked improvement on his speed and ball control.

Carey's previous foos experience is also showing itself every week. The results speak for themselves. Good job Carey. Don't be so down on yourself all the time. You are doing well for coming back into the scene after many years. You are beginning to adjust to the different table than you are used to.

Christian's new spiderman grip seems to be working for his snake shot. This just goes to prove that it is never too late to adjust things in your game that you aren't satisfied with. Christian struggled for a couple of weeks during the change in his grip, he lost a few games, but persevered and now the results are showing. Good Job Christian.

Ben is just a force to be reckoned with. Ben's game has come to pretty much pro level now (at least for Edmonton). His results are showing. Ben seems to be always near the top of the leaderboard. This shows how much practice makes a difference. Way to go Ben. You are lucky to have a table to come home to everyday.

And Sam, awesome job man. Your pull is looking nice. You've been able to square it up so nicely. Way to maintain your composure. It was a tough match and I'm glad you came through. You deserved it. Your 2 bar is scary man. You've got lots of straight and spray options worked in there which makes it more difficult to have a good zone D against you. Proud of your win.

Tobin. Nice work. Your loose ball pick ups and hand speed has for sure improved. Your zone defense is tough to get through. I had trouble even clearing the ball on you, let alone trying to score from the 2 bar. Awesome playing Tobin. Even though your shot was "off" this past Tuesday, you're still playing really well.
