Hotwire dot com is renting out cars for $7.49 a day ... this won't last long that's for sure. Enterprise is the best company to deal with and it's them with the great deal. Economy, compact, mid-size, full ... all available for $7.49 a day.

BETTER ACT VERY FAST ON THIS ONE ... NEVER SEEN IT SO LOW!!!

That was a pretty bad movie. On the other hand, you could probably drive to the grand canyon and back within a day.

Its only about 4 hours to the coast in LA from Vegas, I wouldn't be opposed to doing that on the Monday after the tournament if anyone else hasn't booked flights home yet.

This will be my 6th trip to Vegas (3rd to HOFC) and the first time was the only and last time i would ever use taxi's.

If you never leave the Strip, you really don't need a car ... but there's way more to Vegas than just the Strip.

Wow, where can you operate a full size car for $7.49 and just give it back?? I'd rent one for a 1000 days!

Author: TR Reply #7 Posted: Feb 22 2011 4:43PM

$7.49 a day I mean.

Author: Linda Reply #8 Posted: Feb 22 2011 4:54PM

I think the only place I'll have time to go is the Premium Outlet on the Wednesday. I arrive in the morning and have a day to go shopping. Was just planning on taking a bus or something to the mall....unless others were going to go as well. Seems like a bit of a hassle to rent a car for just one day.

But heck ya, that's a super duper good deal for a car rental.

You can make the Grand Canyon and back on one day. However, you would be best to hit the Indian Reserve with the sky walk out over the canyon. They gouge you to enter and gouge you to go on the sky walk but it shortens the drive by a bunch.

I saw a doc on how they (over)built that thing - I'd love to see it. (but no, I'm not going to HOFC)

the natives do a great job of the canyon walk. if you go, do it on your own not with a tour group, costs less. i've done it twice and happy both times.

$7.49. bet it's closer to $20 / day when all taxes and fees are in. still a good deal if you have time outside the foosball room. i've been to Vegas 100+ times in my short life and rented vehicles the last 30 times or so and never seen it for less. if you're renting book extra time for a day before or a day after if you can.

TONS to do in vegas but make sure you have a great meal and take in a good show, it's TOTALLY worth the time and $.

Some of us from Toronto are looking to take in a show...I'm gunning for one of the Cirques, personally. Anyone care to join? :o

Author: S. Edwards Reply #14 Posted: Feb 24 2011 8:56AM

I have been to a few Cirques,

If you like beatles music "Love" at the mirage is really good. I would actually go to this again.

Ka at the MGM was good

Zumanity and Chris Angel are OK

I heard "O" is pretty good but pricey $$

Non Cirque shows

Jersey Boys was awesome.

Comedy, I went to Carrot Top and we laughed so hard it hurt. His show was really funny.

Penn and Teller - Not as good as I expected

Author: Darcy Reply #15 Posted: Feb 24 2011 9:00AM

"O" was amazing, worth every penny, but get good seats. Blue man group and david copperfield were OK, not great.

Author: Linda Reply #16 Posted: Feb 24 2011 9:52AM

I personally loved 'O'

Was thinking of watching Ka on Wednesday night. From the people I've talked to, they all thought Ka was better than O

Ka is terrible IMHO (and i got the tix for free!), not close to "O" or even Mystere for that matter. Penn & Teller are good, but as mentioned on an earlier thread not as good as i thought it would be.

Author: hardboiled Reply #19 Posted: Feb 24 2011 11:27AM

Ka was 2 hrs of my life I'll never get back - don't do it to yourself. And avoid Criss Angel like the plague (yeah, don't ask). Zumanity and Ka are not worth the time, frankly. For Cirque, Love or O are good.

Amazing Jonathan is great, and a cheaper ticket.

For more $$$, I think La Reve is the best of the genre.

Author: domi nate Reply #20 Posted: Feb 24 2011 12:03PM

Maybe you would have liked Ka more if you had paid for your ticket???

Author: hardboiled Reply #21 Posted: Feb 24 2011 3:11PM

I doubt it, the show sucked.

I paid for it and still hate myself.

Author: domi nate Reply #22 Posted: Feb 24 2011 3:18PM

haha

Author: tony Reply #23 Posted: Feb 24 2011 3:47PM

the best shows in vegas for 10 years running were O, Mystere, and, believe it or not, Celine Dion. At least these sold the most tickets.

i've seen all the Cirque's. the only ones i'd pay for are O. the rest are iffy for me.

Tiesto is in town at the Hard Rock if you can get ticket's. i'd go, just to look at the um.. yeah the music.

Author: Aged Whine & Cheese Reply #24 Posted: Feb 24 2011 3:50PM

Ka was the best sleep I had in Vegas. Sound asleep in the first 20 minutes. Woke up when all was said and done. Aaaah, that was the life.

Never saw believe it or not - was that a ripley's thing?

couldn't have been better than the boom boom room.....

Author: hardboiled Reply #27 Posted: Feb 25 2011 9:44AM

in all honesty, I'm having a hard time thinking of any better entertainment than the boom boom.

Author: Will Reply #28 Posted: Feb 25 2011 9:58AM

I still believe that the boom boom room is made up.

That's the only way I can live with myself for not having been with you guys.

"$7.49. bet it's closer to $20 / day when all taxes and fees are in."

Just an update ... it came to a grand whopping total of $61 from Tue - Sat and i only spent $12.50 on gas. This is what i got ... minus the SS option.

Author: S. Edwards Reply #31 Posted: Mar 23 2011 2:22PM

Haha, you paid $61.00 to drive that?

Author: Superfly Reply #32 Posted: Mar 23 2011 2:44PM

Yeah, it even came with it's own chauffeur/bag boy ... what was his name ... oh yah ... Simone .

Author: tony Reply #33 Posted: Mar 23 2011 5:10PM

see..$73.50 is closer to $100 than you realize.

Author: Superfly Reply #34 Posted: Mar 23 2011 7:35PM

Oh i knew Mr. Tong would try and add the gas money spent into his original figures lol. So Taxes and fees includes gas now eh ... nice try .

Author: tony Reply #35 Posted: Mar 23 2011 10:31PM

life is a series of pay now or pay later.. there is no do not pay. the numbers are just that.. numbers..
