Topic: TSAC president is now Will Stranks

Author: foosghost Original Message Posted: Feb 28 2011 7:44PM

Just to let everyone know that effective immediately I'm officially resigning my position as president of TSAC

This means that Will Stranks is now president

I just don't have the time anymore to commit to leading TSAC as you can see our lack of activity / progress suffers as a direct result

I'm not resigning as BC rep though

I happily leave things in Will's capable hands!

Let me be the first to say a huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to Mr. Eric Dunn.

Eric, without the effort you put into TSAC and Foosball in general, I would not be doing what I am today. Back in 2008 the first pro foosball video I ever watched was your match with Mario Ariganello against Collignon and Saban. It was exciting and made me want to be a part of something bigger in Foosball.

I have always looked up to and respected both you and your opinions. TSAC's organization, structure, and constitution drew me into foosball - especially on the promotional side. We were lucky to have a leader and president as fair and active as you. Thank you so much for all your hard work and your dedication to the sport in Canada.

Congrats,Will!I think its fitting and just that you take over these duties.I think this because of the unbridled enthusiasm that I have seen you display not only in your ability and willingness to organize, and therefore galvanize, our unique sport, but in your spirited play as well.

Thanks for all your hard work Eric and for all of your future work Will.

We will likely be having an ITSF International event here in China so hoping some Canadians might consider visiting us but I do realize it is a bit of a Trek.

You should have more time on your hand now though Eric! Ha ha ha.

Good luck in Vegas everyone.

6.3.1 If the President is unable to perform their duties at any time, the Vice-President is expected to act as President, until either the President is able to return, or until the end of the election year. Another Vice-President must be elected from the elected body for the remainder of the year.

6.9.1 A By-Election can occur if an executive member resigns their position, or if there is desire to filled a previously unfilled position on the executive

Which one is correct? Since Eric resigned I think there should be a By Election. If Eric didn't resign and just couldn't perform his duties then the Vice President could "Act" as president until the elections.

I think we are close to the two year mark since the last elections.

A political battle/showdown on the horizon?Sweet!Let the games begin.

Nothing of the sort. I really hope Will can stay on as President. It's just they should be following the format in the constitution.

Author: Will Reply #10 Posted: Mar 1 2011 11:04AM

We will be having elections in April. It doesn't make sense to have "Bi-elections" right now because we are so close to the current elections. If someone wants to run a bi-election I guess thats fine, but I think it makes the most sense to just have me step up to fill the roll for the next month.

Come on guys, surely there is time for political intrigue.I mean, when are we going here about the misappropriated funds, the lurid affairs, and don't forget about the incident in the airport washroom??!!

All in good fun.See you on Friday,Foosballer's.

The reason I never wanted to be TSAC president was the lack of all those things perennial unterhund just highlighted. Why take the responsibilities when the fringe benefits don't materialize?

Author: ButHeDoesntLookAsian Reply #13 Posted: Mar 2 2011 4:32AM

Wow Tim, and all this time I just thought it was because you knew that you would suck at it!

Author: Aged Whine & Cheese Reply #14 Posted: Mar 2 2011 2:04PM

Well Freddy, obviously that was a factor but not one I considered overly much. To paraphrase a wise American, "Ask not what you can do for the TSAC President role, ask what the TSAC President role can do for you".

Author: Aged Whine & Cheese Reply #15 Posted: Mar 2 2011 2:07PM

Hmmm, on further thought, maybe I didn't learn that from a wise American. Maybe I learned it from former Canada foos president, the legendary Adam "My Original Name Sucked so I Made Up a Less Memorable One" What's-his-name?

Author: ButHeDoesntLookAsian Reply #16 Posted: Mar 2 2011 9:00PM

That would be the ayatolla "Imanpoor". In those days Tim and I would tag team the Quebec foosball board until they banned us both and deleted our postings. Shortly thereafter Adam stepped down.

Even though you would have sucked at at Tim, if Will wasn't running I would vote for you. Too bad I am now a Communist party stooge and am no longer allowed to vote for anything.

Ever.

As in never, ever...

Hmmnn, maybe Adam wants to come here to help us get at least a little democracy. Plus if I sucked up to him maybe I could be on the national team!

What was the number of his agent?

It says there that he is "versatile". Does that mean that he spent too much time at the "Luv Affair" too Tim?

Problem with IMDB is they let any clown have a page there:

Tim, aren't you also tired of pretending you're not also a total bitchin’ rock star from Mars?

You and Charlie Sheen! Twins...

Any bigger and those crazy ass Star whackers will be all over you.

But, you didn't get the role of Guy #1 now did you?
Who was that again?
Oh yeah...

Sorry to hijack your thread Will. We just wanted you to get a taste of what the next few years will be like. Ha ha.

Good luck Will and hurry up and come and visit us in China...

Just think, this could have been our President

Author: Aged Whine & Cheese Reply #22 Posted: Mar 3 2011 10:41AM

I would never have accepted the title of President. My temperament is better suited to El Presidente.
