Topic: Dukes Thursday July 21

Author: Darcy Original Message Posted: Jul 22 2011 11:18AM

Just wanted to put up the points and quickly just say last night was alot of fun. We did a one-ball tournament to decide who would pick next weeks format on Thursday night, and after alot of Roger Wins to take king seat he finally got beat in the final by Jeff T.

Hoping to get some feedback, but it looked as though most of the participants had fun in the one-ball tourney. Should we keep it going for next week?

Jeff chose a BYP for next week, so bring a buddy! (Also, I'll need a partner if anyone's interested)

Christian played really well last night, he and Gerald L turned out to be too much for the field. Which is impressive as there were some really good teams. Good playing guys!

Honorable mention to Garret who was a rock in net all night for me.

1st Christian/Gerald
2nd Darcy/Garret
3rd Will/Aaron

SO much fun...One ball was a nice warm up and definitely gets people in a fun mood. I'd continue it. Only improvements needed would be lights n wobbles. Looking forward to next week...Two foos nights a week? What is this Texas?

Author: Darcy Reply #2 Posted: Jul 22 2011 12:47PM

Doing something new for next week too. It's a BYP, and as such you obviously have to bring a partner.

If you bring out someone new I'll pay your $5 entry and new players get the first night free!

gota love double posts lately!

Author: S. Edwards Reply #20 Posted: Jul 26 2011 2:03AM

I'll go out on a limb here, team "swill" will take first

Author: RezaREX Reply #21 Posted: Jul 26 2011 2:22AM

Might be a safe bet...but only because there is no cool nickname like "swill" that can be derived from Moya and Christian.

Author: .Garry Reply #22 Posted: Jul 26 2011 8:30AM

Chroya or Mistian???

I think it will be GOM that ends up winning though!

Author: Cam. Reply #23 Posted: Jul 26 2011 9:42AM

Is this Moyas first time playing in Edmonton?

Author: Will Reply #24 Posted: Jul 26 2011 12:02PM

Don't forget about team Doger

Author: Will Reply #25 Posted: Jul 26 2011 4:21PM

I don't think moya has ever played here before but maybe an oldschooler can clarify. Haha, try typing in the word oldschooler on your iPhone it has a pretty funny suggestion to correct it.

Also I think we can rename our team from Swill to swackpack, because I plan on getting carried to the win.

Author: Cam. Reply #26 Posted: Jul 26 2011 4:27PM

So then Christian brings an 800 point player out to a league night, doesnt that mean he gets a one goal spot on each game

Author: RezaREX Reply #27 Posted: Jul 26 2011 4:28PM

Haha, yeah I think that sounds about right. 1st place points here I come!!!!!

Author: Cam. Reply #28 Posted: Jul 26 2011 4:32PM

1 goal doesnt win the game for you christian!

Author: S. Edwards Reply #29 Posted: Jul 26 2011 4:58PM

Crown Royal, Longs and Downs. I can't see you winning

Author: Mike Reply #30 Posted: Jul 26 2011 7:39PM

Conrad and MJ LETHAL!

Author: .Garry Reply #31 Posted: Jul 26 2011 7:45PM

team mirad or conrike???

Author: Darcy Reply #32 Posted: Jul 26 2011 8:11PM

team Conke!

Author: Bank Machine Reply #33 Posted: Jul 27 2011 10:33PM

Hey Chris K, Des, Jammie or anyone else need partenr for this thurs 28th at Dukes? drop me a line. Cheers!

Author: Will Reply #34 Posted: Jul 27 2011 10:38PM

So based on the amount of people I have talked to that plan on coming, we shouldnt have any issues two tiering the BYP, in case that is a deciding factor. Probably 4-6 teams in each tier assuming that Darcy wants to do it that way

Author: Darcy Reply #35 Posted: Jul 27 2011 11:14PM

Yeah, we've had 20 people or more both nights we've had league nights at Dukes to this point. If we have 20 or more this time around we'll two tier it.

Author: Darcy Reply #36 Posted: Jul 28 2011 11:47AM

Oh, and for those of you thinking of coming to check out Dukes for the first time... or for those of you who have been there before. Moya Regan from BC will be here tonight.

There are two Canadians ranked pro-master in the states points book. She's one of them. Should be a very good event tonight!

There are 4 Canadian Pro Masters, but she is the only Multiple-time World Champion...

She is the only woman ever to win an open mixed event playing front, and she did it at worlds with a pro goalie, beating virtually everyone good to win the tournament. You gotta watch the video. Anyway.. Darcy is right, Moya is a true foosball superstar worth coming out to see live in person.

Author: Will Reply #41 Posted: Jul 28 2011 2:20PM

And her foos name is Moya Tielens not Moya Reagan. Google her!

Author: melanoir Reply #42 Posted: Jul 28 2011 4:52PM

Facebook says its Moya Reagan ???

im confused...do i trust her or will???

Author: S. Edwards Reply #43 Posted: Jul 28 2011 5:34PM

It's neither. Try Regan

Author: Will Reply #44 Posted: Jul 28 2011 6:30PM

I did a little more research into her winnings...

Just wanted to give a shout out to everyone that came out the other night. Was nice to see people I already knew and to meet new ones.

I had a great time despite starting out a bit slow...lol, I've literally only played a few times in the last year, so was happy to turn it around to play better than I expected. Not sure whether the shots helped or hurt.. hehehe... :p Simon's master plan I imagine.

Take care and thanks for all the kind words and compliments. And, yes, Will, even you too. :p *hug*
