Topic: Points Update for June 28

Author: Darcy Original Message Posted: Jul 29 2011 4:32PM

Hey guys, here's the points update.

We did our one-ball double elim tournament again and it was alot of fun. Roger came away with the win this time and he's chosen a limited byp for next week.

This is how it's going to work: It's a regular 2300 limited BYP, so you your teams point total has to be less than 2300. However, there are three people in the league that wouldn't be able to play with that format so anyone that is over 1450 points (Will Christian Simon) can play with a player with a points ranking up to 850.

Last night's BYP was a good one, we had a special guest (Moya) in the house and she didn't disappoint. She played with Christian and it was fun to watch them cut through the field. She played very composed throughout the night and they gave a very strong Will and Simon team a good run for their money in the final match of the night.

1. Will/Simon
2. Moya/Christian
3. Darcy/Roger

Also, a special congrats to Ray's wife Candace who came out and won the second DYP with Conrad in her first time out. Congrats guys!

I would like to put up an honorable mention to Tom and Garry, who actually beat Christian and Moya in the "A" side.

The only reason they didn't get a shot at the 3rd place spot was because the chart was unseeded so we had 3 really strong teams in one side of the chart.

Thanks for the props Will, but we weren't strong enough. You & Simon were a tough team-we controlled the first game-up 2-1 and had 4 or 5 good chances to go up 3-1 but you both persevered and eked out the game & the match.

In our 2nd match with Christian & Moya, they picked up their games and I let in too much slop which is a bad combo.

We were down 4-0 in game 1, but then we decided to try and came back to win 5-4.

Game 2 we tried, but they played really good and won that one.

Game 3 Darcy was lighting me up and catching loose balls nicely off your downhill, then we switched when they were up 2-1. You scored a beauty from your 2 bar, then I scored a pull split middle that rambled off the goalie man and in. Then a push side roller, then a pull side roller. You blocked Darcy 100% and we won 5-2 in game 3, but if we didn't make that switch they could have taken it.

I was just repeating my earlier post. I thought that was what we were suppose to do

To be fair to my 3 bar... after you guys switched I only had three shots.

Now to be completely ruthless to my 5 bar offense.... I only had three shots because my 5 bar offense disappeared.

Was a good match though... we'll get you guys next time!

Author: Will Reply #19 Posted: Aug 4 2011 5:13PM

Author: Darcy Reply #20 Posted: Aug 4 2011 5:21PM

hah, good point. Maybe I'll get lucky and draw him in the next dyp.
